# Private Connectivity with AWS

AWS PrivateLink connects your application VPC to ScyllaDB Cloud over a
private, unidirectional endpoint, with no VPC peering, no route table
changes, and no public internet exposure.

**Before you begin:** When creating the cluster, select the
**Private Connection** network type. Private Connectivity is supported only
for private clusters.

Configuration is split across two guides:

| Guide | Performed by | Where |

Complete the ScyllaDB Cloud guide first — the AWS guide requires the
**Service Name** it produces.
